At this time a year ago, Lavarnway was a sleeper value pick at catcher, based on the expectation that he was close to getting a long look in Boston, where his interesting power skills would play very well. It took until late in the summer, but the opportunity came... and nothing happened. 153 AB in Boston yielded only 2 HR.
