SPECULATOR: Early-season hidden injuries

One of the frustrating aspects of these games of ours is that we play with imperfect information. Players torture us by underperforming all all summer long, then come to camp the next spring and tell us how they were playing through an injury that previous year. While we sit here in May, preaching about small sample sizes and positive regression to the mean, some early-season under performers just won't follow that path. It might be just because they buck the odds and remain outliers, or maybe at some future date they will disclose the injury that is hampering them right now.
