SPECULATOR: Buy-high candidates

It's an all-too-common refrain at this time of year: hot starters are "sell-high candidates" and slow starters represent "buy-low opportunities." But in leagues of any sophistication, those blanket recommendations probably don't have much utility. In short, there is nothing to exploit there anymore.

But what if you turn the concept around? If you can find a hot starter to target in trade who you believe can sustain his performance all year, maybe you can tap into some lingering doubt from his current owner. The owner might think the hot start is too good to be true, and be willing to entertain what he believes to be the classic "sell high" opportunity. But if you believe in the sustainability of that hot start, you are still buying at...
