GM's OFFICE: LABR-Mixed—Zunino Plan 2.0 (plus an ARI humidor note)

Two weeks ago I participated in the annual LABR-Mixed straight draft. Extending some of the themes from our earlier FSTA Draft (Part 1 | Part 2), here are some of my inner-monologue takeaways from my planning process and the draft itself.

It was at this draft last year where I "introduced" the Zunino Plan, basically a short-hand for the approach of collecting elite BA early in the draft, then cashing in that BA foundation for BA-challenged power hitters in the later stages. Even though I finished 6th in this league last year, that approach to building the offense worked fine (2nd best hitting total in the league), so I wanted to play back that approach this year and see if we could pair it with at least competent pitching this year.
