David Ross (C, CHC) handles the catching duties when Jon Lester (LHP, CHC) and Jake Arrieta (RHP, CHC) are on the mound, so the team is finding other ways to get the hot-hitting Kyle Schwarber (C, CHC) into the lineup. He played an inning in left field July 26, then made the start there July 29, and again the next day. He appeared in 36 games there in the minors in 2014, so it's not completely foreign territory for him.

Schwarber has struck out in six of his first 13 at-bats against left-handers, so the club may be reluctant to put him out there when facing a lefty.
