NL West: Playing time opportunities for SF prospects

Now 7.5 games behind the Braves for the final National League wild card spot, the Giants might take advantage of the expanded rosters, and take another look at prospects IF Marco Luciano and OF Luis Matos over the last month of the season. While neither player has dazzled in their time with the Giants this season, both were recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on September 3. Luciano has hit .289/.333/.400 with 0 HR and 0 SB in a limited 48 PA with the Giants. Matos has received more meaningful playing time due to the Giants injury plagued OF this season. But apart from one big two-game stretch against the Rockies in May where he had 11 RBI, he hasn’t taken advantage of his opportunities. For the season he has hit...
