AL Central: Carpenter, Meadows on the mend in Detroit

The team is close to getting a few key players back. Parker Meadows (OF, DET) returned to the team earlier this month after two strong months at Triple-A but strained a hamstring in his third game back and was subsequently placed on the IL.

Meadows contributed a homer and a steal in that three-game span, hinting at the power/speed blend he could provide rest of season. He is eligible to return immediately after the All-Star break, and though that doesn't seem likely, a return by the end of the month probably is. Meadows should immediately return to at least a strong-side platoon role, though it remains to be seen how much action he'll see vs left-handers.
