Soto signs record deal with Mets

NEWS: The Mets reportedly signed right fielder Juan Soto to a 15 year/$765 million contract.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: Soto will become the Mets’ every day right fielder although he likely will get some at bats as the DH. With Jose Siri and Tyrone Taylor likely to share center for the Mets, it puts Starling Marte’s role in question. He’s no longer deemed an option in center, and with Brandon Nimmo set to play left, we’ve cut Marte’s playing time significantly and split between outfield and DH. It’s possible the Mets will try to trade Marte.
