NEWS: New York is awaiting the results of medical tests on Pete Alonso after he was hit by a pitch on the left wrist on Wednesday.

IMPACT: Medium

BHQ SPIN: Right after Wednesday’s game, the Mets announced that x-rays had come back clean and listed Alonso as day-to-day. Thursday, however, the Mets sent Alonso for a CT scan in Atlanta where the Mets were playing, and after getting the results, they sent him back to New York City for an MRI. For now, we’ve reduced Alonso’s playing time by 5%. Rookie Mark Vientos started at first on Thursday and has been given the playing time taken away from Alonso. Note that Vientos is 6-for-37 since being recalled last month, so the Mets may be looking for alternatives...
