Athletics | Matt Olson undergoes surgery
Oakland Athletics 1B Matt Olson (hand) underwent surgery on his right hand Friday, March 22. He suffered the injury during the game against the Seattle Mariners Thursday, March 21.   Source: MLB.com
 
BHQ take: Olson suffered a broken hamate bone, which was removed in the surgical procedure. OAK did not announce how long Olson would be out, but hitters are usually out from 6-8 weeks (and sometimes longer). For now, we'll assume Olson misses the minimum 6 weeks or so, but that could change. Stay tuned. Right now, it appears the A's will use Mark Canha as Olson's main...
