NEWS: Philadelphia placed LHP José Alvarado on the 15-day IL with left elbow inflammation and reinstated RHP Andrew Bellatti from the 15-day IL.

BHQ SPIN: Alvarado’s MRI showed only inflammation and no other issues, so he will be temporarily shut down from throwing but appears to have avoided a lengthy IL stint. We’ve given a portion of Alvarado’s projected innings to Bellatti, who will reprise the middle relief role that he held prior to hitting the IL for right biceps tendinitis, while also splitting small portions of Alvarado’s projected saves and holds between Philadelphia’s other late-inning arms.
