NEWS: A strained hamstring will put Rangers SS Corey Seager on the shelf for a month; OF Leody Taveras activated to replace him on the roster.

BHQ SPIN: Seager’s Grade 2 strain means he’ll be out a minimum of four weeks. TEX will shift UT Josh Smith to shortstop most nights while Seager is out, with fellow youngster Ezequiel Duran filling in against some LH starters. That opens up an OF spot for Taveras, who’ll slot back into his accustomed CF role. It also means that OFs Bubba Thompson and Travis Jankowski will both keep their roster spots for now, providing occasional speed.
