NEWS: Houston 2B Jose Altuve expected to miss significant time due to a broken right thumb.

BHQ SPIN: Altuve suffered the injury via a HBP in Saturday night’s WBC game. Initial estimates are that he will miss 8-10 weeks, a timeline that points to a return around late May/early June. Houston figures to turn to two utility types to fill in for Altuve: veteran Mauricio Dubón and prospect David Hensley. Dubón profiles as a versatile bench piece, but may be the first option to backfill Altuve due to a defensive edge over Hensley, who is more of a bat-first prospect without a true defensive position.
