BHQ take: DeJong hit 74 homers in his first three seasons with the Cardinals, including 30 in 2018. That led the Cardinals to sign him to a six-year contract that includes $9 million in 2023. DeJong has been in decline since 2018, and so far in 2022, he’s hitting only .130 (.177 xBA) with one homer in 77 at-bats.
