J. Peña injury shuffles Houston infield again

NEWS: Houston placed SS Jeremy Peña on the 10-day IL with a rib fracture, and recalled IF Shay Whitcomb from Triple-A.
IMPACT: Medium
BHQ SPIN: Houston loses the lineup fixture they arguably couldn’t afford to lose. Not only has he played every day amidst a rash of injuries in the rest of the Astros’ lineup, but Pena has been incredibly productive, batting .322 with double-digit HR and SB in the first half. Mauricio Dubón is likely to slide from 2B to SS to backfill Pena, creating a hole at 2B that can be Jose Altuve, Luis Guillorme, or Whitcomb. If Altuve is the choice, then that frees up LF playing time for Cooper Hummel.
