St. Louis Cardinals
NEWS: 2B Nolan Gorman optioned to AAA-Memphis; INF José Fermín recalled.
IMPACT: Medium
BHQ SPIN: Gorman (-20%) has struggled mightily this season, posting a .203/.400/.271 slashline over 402 PA. While a far cry from last season’s .806 OPS; Gorman does have 20 HR this season with an xPX of 151. Fermín (+15%) has 53 PA for the club in 2024, and should provide infield depth–and see the majority of his opportunity versus LHP. Brendan Donovan will likely pick up the majority of 2B starts in Gorman’s absence.
