Acuña promoted as Lindor insurance

New York Mets
NEWS: New York will reportedly call-up Luisangel Acuña from Triple-A Syracuse.
IMPACT: Low
BHQ SPIN: The expectation is that Acuña, who has played second base, shortstop and outfield in 2024, will be used primarily as a pinch runner, as a late-0game replacement and occasionally as a pinch hitter. Note, however, that Francisco Lindor, who has not missed a game this season, left Friday night’s game with a back issue. He is expected to play Saturday, but if that expectation does not come to pass, Acuña could see action at short. At this writing, the Mets had not announced a corresponding move, but the Lindor situation suggests that it will be DJ Stewart who heads to Syracuse.
