Scoresheet 2025 Defensive Range and Eligibility Changes

The Scoresheet 2025 Player Lists were released on January 25, 2025. For this post, we will focus on defense. We will go over the major defensive range changes for 2025, and then we’ll identify some positional eligibility changes and multi-positional targets.

Controversy in the Offseason

For the third year in a row, there was a topic causing controversy with Scoresheet defensive eligibility situation. Much like in 2023 when Fernando Tatis Jr. (OF, SD) returned after missing the entire previous season, in 2025 we have Matt McLain (SS, CIN) in the same situation.
