MINORS: Expected K% and BB% Leaders Among Pitchers

As access to minor league stats continues to proliferate and increase in popularity among prospect fans and dynasty managers, fans of the minors may feel heightened expectations to pay more attention to the “under-the-hood” stats. Stats such as contact%, swing%, chase%, whiff%, z-contact%, etc., have all been championed by those looking for deeper dives into player profiles. 

However, it can be difficult to interpret what any of these stats mean in terms of projecting future performance. For example, how should a 65% zone contact rate translate to a pitcher’s K%? What does a 30% chase rate mean for the BB%? Which of these advanced stats are better than the others?
