Big news for some "friends of BaseballHQ" this week: Rick Wilton and Todd Zola were announced as this year's Hall of Fame honorees by the Fantasy Sports Writers Association.
Rick Wilton, better known around this site as Dr. HQ, was the industry's first injury analyst. His insights appeared here at BaseballHQ.com for many years, as well as at his own Baseball Injury Report site, and numerous other publications. Rick was also the creator of First Pitch Arizona, the staple live weekend event in Phoenix in conjunction with the Arizona Fall League. The 26th edition of the event, originally scheduled to take place in mid-October, was postponed by the current pandemic.
Todd Zola is the proprietor of Mastersball.com, but is also a familiar face (and voice) to BaseballHQ readers, from his frequent appearance on BaseballHQ Radio, to his presentations at First Pitch Arizona and our spring First Pitch events, and occasional contributions here at BaseballHQ.com over the years.
We wholeheartedly approve of their being honored by the FSWA. Not only have they had distinguished careers in this industry, but they are both terrific people, and we look forward to celebrating these honors with them in person sometime soon.
Congratulations to Rick and Todd... from Brent, Ray, and all of your friends at BaseballHQ!
