I used to have enough discretionary time to participate in eight fantasy leagues and remain fully involved in all of them for the entire season. I had enough time to memorize the 25-man rosters of every major league team and keep them updated in my head. I had the multi-tasking capacity to run comprehensive analyses for every single roster decision.
As the years passed, that discretionary time seemed to evaporate. I had to scale down my eight fantasy teams to six, then five and now just four. I barely have enough time to memorize each team's starting lineups. And all my comprehensive analyses have now been reduced to a series of back-of-the-napkin shortcuts.
This is not necessarily a bad thing; I'm a busy guy. We are a busy...
